Teriyaki Chicken

This recipe for Teriyaki Chicken is made using my Wasabi - Yaki Wing Sauce, and you'd never know it. It has great flavor and just the right amount of heat.

If you haven't tried my new Wasabi - Yaki Wing Sauce it's not only great on wings, but can be used in other ways as well.

Just a word about the Brocoli:
This is one of those, "Do as I say, Not as I did." After cooking the brocoli for a little over 5 minutes, they were bright green, and crisp tender. I mixed them in with the chicken, cooked for a minute or 2 to let them absorb some of the flavors, and moved it to the side of the stove, while the rice finished cooking. WRONG. I should have done as I've shown in the recipe, and added them just prior to serving. It would have made the whole meal a lot better.



  • 1 1/2 Pounds, Chicken Breast
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons, Butt Kickin' Blacken, Original Recipe
  • Vegetable Oil, for cooking chicken
  • 1 Medium, Onion, sliced
  • 2 Large, Jalapeno Chile Peppers, sliced into rounds
  • 1 Can, Sliced Waterchestnuts
  • 2 Cups, Wasabi-Yaki Wing Sauce
  • 1 Pound, Brocoli Florets

1.    Slice the chicken into strips, and place in a bowl along with the blacken. You're not using much blacken but it'll help to add some flavor and color to the chicken.

2.    Add about a tablespoon of oil to a Teflon frying pan, that's been heated over high heat. Add enough chicken to loosely cover the bottom of the pan. Cook about 1 minute per side, set it in a bowl, and sear the rest.

Ron's Note:
Your cooking the chicken all the way at this point, just blackening the chicken. They'll finish cooking later.

3.    Slice the onion lengthwise, and the jalapenos into rounds, Add them to the pan you cooked the chicken in. Cook at medium heat until they begin to get soft.

4.    Place the chicken and waterchestnuts into the pan along with the Wasabi - Yaki Wing Sauce. Cook over medium low heat for about 10 minutes.

5.    While the chicken is cooking, boil some water. When the water is boiling, add the brocoli, and cook for about 7 minutes at a full boil. When the chicken is cooked through, add the brocoli to the pan, and mix it all up.

6.    To Serve:
Plate the rice, and make a well in the middle. Add the chicken mixture, and enjoy.

Leftovers


Any leftovers can easily be re-heated in a pot, covered, over low heat. Just be sure to add a tablespoon. or so, of water to rejuvinate the sauce.
